Important Notes:

A. For Building Section

  1. The sum insured for the building should be the rebuilding value plus redecoration cost.
  2. The premises or building to be insured must be less than 40 years of age.
  3. The premises or building to be insured must be for residential use. No industrial or commercial buildings will be covered.
  4. The premises to be insured must be your family’s and your principal place of residence located in Macau SAR and is not a village house or the likes.
  5. You and your family must comply with all statutory obligations and take reasonable steps to prevent loss or damage; to maintain any insured property in good condition and sound repair; and to fulfill the requirement of the deed of mutual covenant, any other relevant regulations or statutory instruments relating to the building and your home.
  6. Walls, flooring, doors with frames, windows with frames and the ceiling and their improvements and betterments made by you within the insured premises are covered under the Building Section.
  7. Alternative Accommodation can only be claimed under either Contents section or Optional Building section.

B. For Worldwide Personal Possessions Section

  1. The sum insured for unspecified items should represent the maximum possible value of all the property you are likely to carry away from home at any one time. 
  2. For any property exceeding HK$5,000 which you would like to insure, please list down separately in the proposal form and provide invoice to as proof of its value.
  3. If you would like to insure any valuable property exceeding HK$15,000, You should provide relevant invoice to prove its value at the time of application.

C. For Personal Accident Section

  1. This insurance is available to persons aged from 16 to 70. 
  2. Accidental Death & Permanent Disablement Benefit is the basic cover.
  3. Please do not insure the Temporary Disablement Benefit with the limit exceeding your average weekly earnings. 
  4. Self-employed individuals, housewives, and unemployed are not entitled to Temporary Disablement Benefit.

In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of any of the above details, the English version shall prevail. For details of coverage, terms, conditions, and exclusions, please refer to the policy wording.

I am moving to a new home. Am I covered under my FamilySurance Plus 4.0 Insurance Policy?

Subject to a few exceptions and a maximum limit, your Household Contents are covered under the Policy in the course of your household removal if this is done through the service of a professional remover.

However, please be aware that the Household Content items listed below are not covered

If my domestic helper causes damage to third party properties or injures a third party in an accident, am I covered under FamilySurance Plus 4.0 Insurance Policy?

If the domestic helper causes third party property damage or a third party bodily injury while she is working for you and you are legally liable for her acts, this policy will cover you against the legal liability. 

If the domestic helper causes the damage or the injury while she is acting for herself only, no cover for such damage or injury will be provided by this policy.

If a window frame falls from my flat, am I protected by my FamilySurance Plus 4.0 Insurance Policy?

A window frame is part of a Building. If you have purchased the Building Section, the replacement cost of the window frame is covered by the Policy as long as the cause of its fall is not excluded by the Policy. However, if it falls because of its own wear and tear or corrosion, the Policy will not pay for the replacement.

If a third party is injured or if third party properties are damaged as a result of the fall of the window frame, FamilySurance Plus 4.0 will indemnify you against your personal liability if you are held legally liable for the situation not being excluded under the policy.

My home was broken into and I lost my expensive watches. Am I covered under my FamilySurance Plus 4.0 Insurance Policy?

The Policy will pay for the lost watches up to a specified maximum value per watch as stated in the Policy.
