MSIG Sai Kung 50 cum Skyrunning Asian Championship
With the previous success of the MSIG HK50 Series, the MSIG Sai Kung 50 of 2015 was proud to be selected as the official race of the 1st Skyrunning Asian Championship ("the Asian Championship") race by the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF).
The Asian Championship came to an exciting climax on 7 February 2015. The race successfully attracted more than 1,000 athletes, bringing together a field of international top ranking runners and some rising mountain-running talents from all over the globe.
Contestants in the Asian Championship competed for points in the 50km Ultra Skymarathon and 28km Skyrace categories, as part of the 2015 Skyrunner® World Series. International elite runners complimented the Asian Championship on its perfect timeslot that filled up the inactive running season in Europe.
The Asian Championship was an impressive experience for the runners, with substantial international media coverage, local press and social media discussion including SCMP, i-cable, am730, ISF’s website, elite runners and the runner teams’ Facebook, Twitter, sports-related websites as well as foreign press websites. Over 180 social media mentions were garnered, having a reach of over 100,000 and 48,000+ interactions triggered by the Asian Championship.
MSIG, as the title sponsor of the HK50 Series, is also delighted to see its growing popularity as well as its rapid development as part of the international racing map in recent years.
We look forward to the next HK50 Series races. See you all there!
