Expressing our CSR vision and growing love through action in wider society
Heep Hong Milk Tea Making workshops are now established as part of the society's pre-job training programme, helping autistic youths to practise workplace skills and develop their potential. These workshops are continuing to grow in popularity with our corporate partners.
After the society's first milk tea workshop at Realife in July, MSIG’s partner Willis Towers Watsons signed up for a further session in August. We are delighted to bring all parties together and become part of this journey of learning and growth for everyone involved. Hong Kong style milk tea is part of our heritage, but few of us know how to make it, so it is fun to learn new skills from Heep Hong's talented teen chefs. It is also valuable for us to learn more about autism and what each of us can do to support those in our community who are affected by it.
Another development during 2016 was the launch of a cooking & donation campaign via Facebook to leverage wider support from the Hong Kong public. We partnered with Sici Kitchen and invited 20 winners of our Facebook game to join a free cooking class. A delicious 3-course X’mas dinner was prepared, with edited video tutorials being posted on MSIG’s Facebook page every Friday during November.
We encouraged Facebook users to show their support with simple clicks, with every “Like”, “Comment”, “Share” or “Tag” counting towards extra bonus dollar donations from MSIG to Heep Hong Society.
We have now reached an 8-year milestone in our support of the society’s pre-job training programme and will continue to achieve a higher level of public engagement in the near future.
